Chimichurri -  2oz / 56g pouch

Chimichurri is a highly aromatic blend of herbs and spices hailing from South America, particularly Argentina and Uruguay.  Our blend is inspired by Argentinian asado culture, which is both a barbecuing technique, and the actual social event itself.  It's packed with flavour, combining parsley, oregano, basil, savory, garlic, thyme, salt, paprika, black peppercorns, and a pinch of red pepper flakes for character.  If you've ever seen pictures in food magazines of a beautifully cooked steak with a vibrant green sauce, there's a good chance that you were looking at chimichurri.

It works well as an aromatic dry rub, but where it really shines is if you combine it with oil, vinegar, and a bit of water to make an herbaceous sauce to drizzle over your dish.  For every ounce (28g) of our Chimichurri blend, we recommend mixing in 4 tablespoons or sunflower or extra virgin olive oil + 1.5 tablespoons of red wine vinegar + 2 tablespoons of water.  

You can always adjust your acidity level to taste by playing with the amount of vinegar, or make it a little bit thicker/thinner by adjusting the water, but this ratio is very balanced and is a great spot to start.  Don't limit yourself to using it on steak, it really complements a wide variety of grilled meats including pork tenderloin, short ribs, and chicken thighs.
